Stein Snap & Strap

The “Snap & Strap” is designed to work in conjunction with a micro pulley which is a small inexpensive tool that performs a variety of useful tasks. It is most commonly used as a means for tending slack in the climbing line. When used for this purpose the micro pulley is appropriately referred to as a “slack tender.” 

The pulley is attached to the climbing line below (or behind) the friction hitch. It is secured with a swivel snap (“snap & strap”) to the climber’s primary connection device. As the climber pulls on the running end of the rope the micro pulley is forced into and advances the friction hitch on the climbing line.
